Sport Fishing in Alaska

Alaska's 40,544 miles of coastline represents 40% of the US total and provides endless recreational fishing opportunities in both fresh and marine waters.

The State of Alaska, Department of Fish and Game manages most of Alaska's recreational fisheries (out to 200 nautical miles) and has adopted some regulations that affect recreational fishing for halibut. NOAA Fisheries manages Pacific halibut recreational fisheries in Alaska.
