Alaska Region Environmental and Socio-Economic Analyses
Many laws and Presidential
executive orders impose requirements for
environmental and socio-economic analysis on the rulemaking process.
Among the most important of these are the National Environmental Policy
Act, which requires an analysis of the environmental impacts of
regulations, the Regulatory Flexibility Act, which requires an
examination of adverse impacts on small entities, and Executive Order
12866, which requires an analysis of the costs and benefits of
regulations. This page provides access to important statutes and
executive orders, and to analyses conducted pursuant to these for
management actions in the EEZ off of Alaska.
